Import

Formats: ShapefileESRI File GeodatabaseGeoPackageGeoJSONKMLKMZGPXDXFCSVExcelZipped archives unpacked on arrival.
Conversion: GDAL/OGR. Small files convert in the browser; large files stream straight to a dedicated conversion service.
Projection: Source CRS read from the file and reprojected to EPSG:4326 on ingest.
Multi-layer sources: Split into separate layers with attributes and geometry type preserved.

Store: Geometry and attributes held in PostGIS.
Tiles: Mapbox Vector Tiles generated per request with ST_AsMVT, addressed by z/x/y.
Generalisation: Simplified geometry and a feature cap at low zoom. Label anchor points precomputed.
Caching: Tiles cached at the CDN edge, keyed on the style version.

Classification: Quantile, equal interval or manual breaks, with per-class colour and label overrides.
Ramps: Named colour schemes, reversible, with an explicit colour for unmatched values.
Symbols: Circle and SDF marker shapes with rotation, stroke and opacity. Line width, dash pattern and linked polygon outline.
Scaling: Point radius driven by a numeric attribute across its observed domain.
Visibility: Per-layer zoom range and grouped attribute filters.
Suggestion: Opening styling derived from column statistics and geometry type.

Labels: Field list or template with placeholders. Halo, collision avoidance, along-line placement, zoom range, truncation and wrap width.
Popups: Ordered rows of fields and custom text, configurable heading, automatic linking of URL and email values.

Composition: Several layers per map. Source layers stay canonical; each map holds its own styling over them.
Basemaps: Streets, minimal, dark, satellite and hybrid.
State: Saved extent and generated thumbnails.
Measurement: Geodesic distance and area, computed on a spherical earth model.

Widgets: Statistic, gauge, bar, donut, filter, search, text, layer list, map breakdown and stories.
Aggregation: Count, distinct count, sum, average, minimum and maximum over any attribute.
Binding: Widgets optionally scoped to the visible extent and to the active filters.

Links: Tokenised, unlisted and revocable. Optional password and expiry date.
Viewer: Full interaction, attribute table, and download where the publisher permits it.
